Description
The Automatic Brake Controller generates asymmetric DCC to trigger the ABC braking feature found on many DCC decoders, including Lenz silver and gold, Zimo and others. When the circuit is active the locomotive slows to a gentle, realistic stop; when it is released the train accelerates away smoothly, all controlled by the decoder itself.
It works by slightly reducing the voltage on one side of the DCC waveform, by around 1.6 volts, which the decoder recognises as a brake command. In its simplest form you wire an on/off toggle switch across the SWITCH terminals to hold a train.
- Manual control with a simple toggle switch
- Signal interlocking, braking automatically when a signal goes to danger
- Full automation using a DCC block detector to stop for an occupied section ahead
Your locomotive decoders must be ABC-capable and set up accordingly. Still manufactured and fully supported as part of the Classic range.
