Description
As layouts grow, the standard MegaPoints network can run short on distance and device capacity. The CAN Network Adapter solves this by carrying your network over a CAN bus using a single twisted pair, such as one pair of a CAT-5 cable, linking sections that would otherwise be too far apart.
It is worth adding once you plan more than five network devices or a bus length over about 10 metres. Used in pairs back to back it also makes a simple network range extender. The adapter is bi-directional, so several MultiPanel mimic panels can share control across long distances and cooperate as if on one network. Your controllers, MultiPanels and Route Processors carry on as normal, unaware the CAN bus is even there.
- 100 Kbps for runs up to around 500 metres
- 50 Kbps for around 1000 metres
