System2 — layout control

Run your layout like a signal box.

Points, signals, routes and detection — configured over Wi‑Fi from your phone, connected by one simple two‑wire network. No soldering wizardry, no computer science degree.

As run on The Grand Challenge — Pete Waterman’s Guinness World Record layout — and all Making Tracks layouts.

New to System2?

Up and running in three steps

Every System2 board joins the same two-wire network and is set up from a web page on your phone. Start small; add boards as the layout grows.

1

Pick your control panel

A Panel Controller (16 buttons / 16 LED pairs) or Mini Panel (8 + 8) is the heart of the system — your buttons and lamps plug straight in.

Control panels →
2

Add drivers for points & signals

Servo, solenoid, stall-motor or relay — one driver board per group of eight, sitting anywhere on the network.

Point & signal drivers →
3

Plug in and play

Join boards with the two-wire CAN cable, power up, and pair channels from your phone. Add RFID detection and routes when you’re ready.

Plan your layout

Tell us about your layout. We’ll price the lot.

Count your points and signals, say how you’d like to drive them, and the planner returns a complete priced parts list — boards, cables, the right power supply — with nothing forgotten. Compare servo against solenoid, see what “ten more points next year” really costs, then send the whole list to your basket in one click.

Classic range

Been with us since the beginning?

MultiPanel, MiniPanel and the classic servo controllers are still manufactured and still supported — spares, cables and expansions live in the Classic range. And when you’re ready to go wireless, the upgrade path shows the System2 equivalent for every board you own.
