Privacy Policy
MegaPoints Controllers (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have over your information. It applies to this website and to the MegaPoints products you buy from us.
Information we collect
- When you order — your name, email, postal address and phone number, so we can process and fulfil your order and provide support. We do not store card details: payments are handled by external PCI‑compliant gateways over encrypted connections.
- From our products — MegaPoints boards contact our servers to check for and download firmware updates. In doing so they send a device identifier, the product type, the software version and the IP address of the request. We use this only to operate and improve the products — never for advertising or profiling.
How we use and share it
We use your information to fulfil orders, provide support and improve our products. We do not sell or rent your personal information. Device update data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and approximate location is derived from IP addresses via ip‑api.com; these act as our data processors.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies for essential functions such as your shopping basket and preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some features may not work correctly.
How long we keep it
We keep order information for as long as needed to support your purchase and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We keep device update data to understand product trends. You can ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct or delete it, or to object to how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@megapointscontrollers.com.
Children
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Data breaches
If a personal‑data breach occurs, we will notify the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) within 72 hours of becoming aware of it where required to do so, and will inform any affected individuals without undue delay.
Warranty
What’s covered
We warrant our products against defects in materials or workmanship for 12 months from the date of purchase. This warranty applies only to products bought directly from MegaPoints Controllers.
Return‑to‑base
This is a return‑to‑base warranty: you cover the cost of returning the product to us. Before sending anything back, request a Returns Number by email and show it clearly on the return label — items sent without a valid Returns Number may not be accepted.
What we’ll do
Where a claim is valid, we will repair or replace the defective part or product at our discretion. The warranty covers the repair or replacement only; it does not cover associated costs such as transportation or loss of use. You are responsible for confirming that a product is suitable for your intended use.
What’s not covered
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs, misuse, an incorrectly applied power supply, or modifications.
Your statutory rights
This warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under UK consumer law — including the right to goods of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Requesting a Returns Number
Email info@megapointscontrollers.com with your order number, the product details and a description of the issue.
